Italian Potatoes Recipe

A traditional Italian Potatoes recipe from Italy. In Venice this easy and cheap recipe is still served in many restaurant. We like to use our local potatoes, which have been available in our contryside for centuries!

Italian Potatoes Recipe by Cook In Venice

Patate alla Veneziana by CookInVenice

Ingredients:

500 gr. of potatoes, peeled, washed, cut into small chunks

3 tablespoons of olive oil

25 gr of butter

200 gr of finely chopped onion

2 tablespoons of chopped parsley

salt and pepper to taste

 

 

Peel the potatoes (we used our handy peeler part of a set of ceramic knives by U-Cook Italia). Wash them and chop them in small chunks.

In a large pan gently fry the oil and the butter with the onion and the parsley, until the onion is soft. Add the chopped potatoes, the salt and the pepper, mix well and let cook slowly covered until the potatoes are nice and soft. Serve hot.
